To refill the spice bottle I stuck the handle down into a shrub so I had both hands free to pour the powder using a funnel with the tip cut off to help the flow. You could increase the dose with each tap by enlarging the holes in the shaker lid, but I didn’t want to run short so I stuck with the lid as is and just tapped harder to release more. I had a lot left over from this fall so I plan to apply again in spring to boost the concentration for faster results. It goes quickly if you alternate tapping left then right with each stride, adjusting your technique so the spots are about 4 feet apart in both rows. Then walk along and give a crisp tap to release a shot of powder on your lawn. Duct tape the container upside down to a spare broom or paint roller handle so the lid is about 5 inches from the bottom. ![]() The lid has a shaker side ( don’t use the spoon opening side).
